“One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals”
- Mahatma Gandhi

“Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to.”
- Alfred A. Montapert

Nature, definitely my salvation... In all honesty, I love nature & animals far more than I love humans. I'm learning to condition my heart to accept people, regardless of their flaws. But nature? Nature is pure. Even though there are a few species of animals that kill for sport, the vast majority of animals only kill for food or to protect themselves & loved ones. Man, on the other hand, kills for sport; kills for land, rocks, and water; and even kills over petty emotions. I've always felt a closer connection to animals & the beautiful wonders of the Earth than I have with mankind, our structures, and our societies. And even in my darkest hours, being alone on a nature trail, reflecting on a beach, or sitting secluded on a dock while feeding fish has always brought me inner peace. Every time I see a deer in person, my heart jumps. And like a child, I still get excited when a rather big fish or turtle snaps up the lumps of bread I threw in their general direction. And please don't get me started on the beauty of waterfalls lol

I believe I could live alone in the forest & be completely content. It's only when I'm around other people that I even get angry, frustrated, or emotionally hurt, for that matter. In fact, when I was most conflicted as to what spiritual path to pursue in life, I quickly realized that following the path of the isolated hermit, living alone and away from people, would be my easiest path by far. Then I wouldn't have to worry about the temptations of the world or worry about about whether or not I'd give in the sin. All I'd have to do is worship God, appreciate His natural wonders, and survive. I only decided to rejoin society because I had a strong feeling in my heart that I was shown too many things about the ways of the world, and if I didn't share that knowledge, I would be held accountable for it. Hmmm, there was supposed to be a point to this...

Ah yeah, I remember now. This section is going to be dedicated to showing the wonders & beauties of nature, and showing ways we can save the planet and it's many species from the most destructive species of them all- us. God willing, I'll also be adding pictures I take while I'm traveling, both of the beauties and of the tragedies of nature, so we can all have a better appreciation for our situations. I believe nature is literally filled to the brim with God's miracles, but we're far too concerned with the life of the world to notice or appreciate them.
