Equality & Forgiveness

V1

Once we finally have our own self-sufficient communities
real estate, businesses, law enforcement, and facilities
and don’t need help from government or corporate entities
they’ll have to see us as their equals, no more sympathy
no more taking us for granted while ignoring our interests
their companies will have to compete to get our business
for once, their leaders would have to follow through on their promises
if they want to get our support for their re-election bids
this isn’t new, every other nationality
does the same thing, look at the Jewish community
and Little Italy, Chinatown, and white communities
you’ll see the same things, self-sufficiency and unity
so all that’s left is for us to put this plan in motion
to work together and take control of our resources
create our own jobs and help ourselves from within
only then will the world deal with us as equal men

Chorus (Equality)

We want the same opportunities
The same standing in society
The same protections for our kids
No more bias or exploiting them, deal with us as equal men

V2

Call me naïve but I truly believe that we can unify
lay down our weapons and work together, see eye to eye
solidify a massive African kingdom
resources beyond belief and many spiritual leaders
we’d have the greatest anthems with flawless dancers and singers
with gracious ladies from Angola to Eritrea
our Caribbean nations could form a true federation
a tropical getaway that’s the envy of all vacations
our athletes and celebrities could promote a hopeful vision
serving as global diplomats, improving our image
imagine our gangs working together in order to help us
protecting our communities like the Black Panthers
our street dealers using their business skills instead to build
massive legal institutions, legal deals, no one’s killed
my dream’s to see us all united globally
while entire generations grow up knowing only peace and equality

Chorus

We want the same opportunities
The same standing in society
The same protections for our kids
No more bias or exploiting them, deal with us as equal men

But first we have to do the same thing
See each other as our equals and strive for unity
Treat our women and kids with dignity
Care for and take care of our own communities

2nd Chorus (Forgiveness)

So show forgiveness and let it go
Forget our grudges and let it go
Focus on things that will help us grow
Keep moving forward and never sell your soul

Even with those who don’t like us
Take the higher path or you’ll be just like them
Remember, it’s God who unites us
While the Devil spites us and then divides us

V3

Yeah, we’ve been wronged by many but we have the blood of kings
we’re strong enough to let it go and still reach our dreams
there are people globally that want to help us succeed
but we have to unclench our fists and make peace, I want to see
African Americans forming strong communities
then get welcomed on visits to our homelands overseas
seeing both Sudans treating each other equally
as I travel up and down the Nile, hoping to see my dream
of Ethiopia and Eritrea forming a lasting peace
so I can shop in Asmara then fly to Addis to sleep
then sing about the “high life” of Nollywood in Lagos
then march with the ANC Youth League for training
invite my friends to visit beautiful Angola
the land of Kalandula Falls, Yola, and Perola
hop a flight from Luanda, take a tour of Rwanda
then a pilgrimage to the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda
then hang with then update our ex-pats in Ghana
take a cruise out to Haiti then retire in the Bahamas
we have so much potential, God gave us so many blessings
but we must forgive each other cuz the key’s to work together

Chorus

So show forgiveness and let it go
Forget our grudges and let it go
Focus on things that will help us grow
Keep moving forward and never sell your soul

Even with those who don’t like us
Take the higher path or you’ll be just like them
Remember, it’s God who unites us
While the Devil spites us and then divides us
